ALLY McCOIST revealed Madjid Bougherra will miss the Co-operative Insurance Cup final but insists Rangers will have no hesitation in throwing Danny Wilson into the showdown with St Mirren. The Algerian is out with a hamstring injury and McCoist insists the defender, whohasn'tplayedsincetheOldFirmderby win a fortnight ago, will take at least three weeks to recover. And that means the Light Blues look almost certain to stick with the pairing of skipper David Weir and Wilson despite McCoist admitting the

A late equaliser from Mihael Kovacevic earned Dundee United a dramatic 3-3 draw against Rangers and forced their Active Nation Scottish Cup quarter-final to a replay. United took the lead through substitute Andis Shala but Rangers appeared to be cruising towards the last four when Kris Boyd grabbed a double from the penalty spot and Nacho Novo netted a third for the holders. Rangers have confirmed that Madjid Bougherra will miss next week's Scottish League Cup final. The Gers had hoped the Algerian central defender would be fit to play against Dundee United on Sunday. But he did not feature in the 3-3 draw, and assistant boss Ally McCoist revealed that Bougherra would be sidelined due to his hamstring problem - which he has aggravated further this week.

On that occasion the Tannadice team lost 7-1 on a day when Kris Boyd notched five goals, Steven Whittaker and Madjid Bougherra got the others, and all United had to show for a dismal day at the office was an effort from Damian Casalinuovo. Arabs boss Houston said: "We're certainly not going there thinking we'll be beaten like that again. "We're not thinking about that game at all and this one is something we're not scared about.

But while being chosen for the squad that will face England, Madjid Bougherra's Algeria and Slovenia is a clear goal for Edu, it is club matters which mean the most for now. Barring any major setbacks, the massive high he got from scoring against Gers' biggest rivals is likely to carry him along for some time to come. Whether it was the goal that keeps the title in Govan or not remains to be seen but many of the club's supporters have already heralded it as that.

STEVEN Whittaker is the fullback who supposedly can't defend yet scoring 11 superb goals in a season seems no bother for him. Kevin Kyle is out of Kilmarnock's team to face Rangers at Rugby Park with a groin injury. The striker picked up the injury during a trial match for Russian club Spartak Nalchik recently and missed Saturday's 1-0 defeat away to Hibernian. Killie defender Simon Ford and midfielder Craig Bryson, who have respective knee and hamstring injuries, continue to miss out but goalkeeper Cameron Bell makes a swift return to the starting XI, having been forced out of the match with Hibs because of a head knock.
